Have you ever imagined what would happen if you get a chance to see the original Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and you end up tearing it in front of the organizers? Nightmare, isn’t it?
What if I tell you this nightmare turned into reality for a 12 year old? A Taiwanese boy tripped and accidentally punched into 350-year old Paolo Porpora oil on canvas work called Flowers. To add to his horror, the painting was worth $1.5m.
The curator of the exhibition, Andrea Rossi was apparently shocked at the incident. Who the hell would not go into a shock? If I were the curator, I would have died of an attack, for sure. But all is well that ends well. Luckily, the painting was insured and the boy is not blamed for the incident.
A painting worth $1.5 million? Ummm… I don’t know why but all of a sudden, painting looks like a tempting career option to me.
Now that you have enjoyed the story, see for yourself how this boy tore this million dollar painting. Because this is History!
